Pediatric Traumatic Brain Injury: Proactive Intervention, Third Edition presents a unique philosophy for assessing and treating children and adolescents with traumatic brain injury.

About The Authors

Roberta DePompei, CCC-SLP/A, PhD, ASHA Fellow is a retired Distinguished Professor, Interim Dean of the College of Health Professions, and Director of the School of Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Akron. Her major areas of research and interest are in cognitive-communicative challenges to individuals with brain injury and the impact of brain injury on the family system. She is a leading advocate for youths with TBI and their families. Internationally known for her research and presentations, Roberta is recognized for developing innovative approaches for functional community inclusion. She believes she has learned the most from families who have shared their lives with her over the years.

Jean Blosser, CCC-SLP, EdD, ASHA Fellow is passionate about creating systems in our schools that ensure educationally relevant and outcomes-based services. To Jean, collaboration is essential!  Her career has taken many interesting twists and turns. She is an internationally recognized author, speaker and entrepreneur. As President of Creative Strategies for Special Education, Jean guides organizations to develop innovative solutions to difficult challenges. Previous leadership positions included Associate Provost, Speech and Hearing Center Director, Professor Emerita at The University of Akron and VP, Therapy Programs and Quality, of an education solutions company. Throughout her career Jean has fostered change in service delivery practices and motivated professionals to make a difference in students’ lives.
